On November 7, Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor of Shandong Province, met with H.E.Algirdas STONČAITIS, Deputy Prime Minister of Lithuania, and his delegation in Jinan. H.E. Ina MARČIULIONYTĖ, Lithuanian Ambassador to China, accompanied His Excellency on the visit.

Gong Zheng extended warm welcome to Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation and briefed them on the latest economic and social developments of Shandong. He pointed out that the three proposals and five measures announced by president Xi Jinping at the second CIIE have charted a good course and provided considerable opportunities for cooperation between Shandong and Lithuania. He hoped both sides can exchange visits in all areas, promote the development in investment and trade, and strengthen collaboration in science and technology,especially in laser technology, in order to strive for greater progress in friendly relationship between the two sides.

H.E. Algirdas STONČAITIS expressed gratitude for the warm welcome they received in Shandong, and said Lithuania will boost cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and financial technologies.

Ren Airong, Vice Governor of Shandong, and officials from related departments of Shandong Provincial Government also attended the meeting.
