From November 11 to 13, Wang Suilian, Vice Chairwomen of the Standing Committee of Shandong Provincial People’s Congress and President of Shandong Federations of Industry and Commerce, led the delegation of Shandong Provincial People’s Congress to Shijiazhuang, Hebei to attend the 4th US-China Subnational Legislatures Cooperation Forum co-sponsored by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, State Legislative Leaders Foundation of the US, and Hebei Provincial Government.    

Wang Suilian was invited to make a speech at the session of Education and Future. She pointed out that, as a major province in education, Shandong is an important cradle of Chinese civilization and the birthplace of Confucianism, ranking among the top in China in terms of the size of schools and the number of students. Shandong has been highly valuing its exchanges and cooperation with the US, and hopes that the visionary people from education sector of the US could bear in mind the long-term and fundamental interests of the two peoples, build on our friendship, deepen cooperation, make education and cultural exchanges a steady bridge connecting our two sides, and make new contribution to the sound development of China-US relations and progress of the human history.During the forum, Wang Suilian also met with John Alario, Senate President of Louisiana, and Felix W Ortiz, Assistant Speaker of New York State Assembly, exchanging ideas on how to further promote Sino-US relations and boost sub-national friendly exchanges and cooperation.

Chen Baiwei, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, also attended the forum.
