At the invitation of the region of Casablanca-Settat of Morocco, Kano State of Nigeria, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, from November 3 to 13, Fu Zhifang, Chairman of Shandong Committee of the CPPCC, led a delegation of Shandong Province to visit Morocco, Nigeria and Uganda.
During his visit to Morocco, Fu Zhifang met with officials of the Regional Council of Casablanca-Settat, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries,Rural Development, Water and Forests, and Department of Renewable Energies, and visited the Morocco projects of Shandong Deep Sea Fishing Co., Ltd., and SEPCO3. During his visit to Nigeria, Fu Zhifang met with the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Kano State and the Emir of Kano State, attended the 2019 China Shandong Export Commodities (Nigeria) Exposition, visited Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Ltd. and Lee Group, and had talks with representatives of Shandong enterprises and overseas Chinese from Shandong based in Nigeria. During his visit to Uganda, Fu Zhifang met with the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, Director-General of Uganda Investment Authority, and City Minister of Kampala, visited Africa Shandong Industrial Park and Makerere University where he made a speech at the Confucius Institute and donated Nishan House. This visit has expanded and consolidated our communication channels with African countries, laying foundation for further friendly exchanges with the relevant provinces and regions of the three countries. It has deepened the cooperation with the three countries in fields such as business investment, development of industrial parks, agriculture and food processing, infrastructure, energy development, culture and education, and has substantially enhanced practicalcollaboration in multiple areas with these 3 countries under the framework of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the Belt and Road Initiative.
During the visit, heads and representatives of Chinese embassies in Morocco and Uganda, and Consulate General in Lagos also attended related activities.
