On the afternoon of October 28, Vice Governor Yu Guo’an met with Vice President Forough Salami-Dakha and Vic President Pierre Pouliquen of the Regional Council of Brittany of France in Jinan.

Yu Guo’an warmly welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced the economic and social developments of Shandong Province, the Shandong International Friendship Cities Conference for Cooperation and Development and the Qingdao Multinationals Summit. He said that in the 34 years since the establishment of sister relationship between Shandong and Brittany, the cooperation between the two sides has yielded fruitful results, and the friendship has been deepened. It is hoped that the two sides will closely conduct official exchanges at the provincial, regional and municipal levels, deepen cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry and ocean, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges in education, sports, culture and tourism, expand cooperation in the ecological field, and achieve agreement on cooperation in the ecological peninsula as soon as possible.

Vice President Forough Salami-Dakha expressed appreciation to Shandong for the warm reception and gave a positive response to the cooperation suggestions. She said that the two sides will promote cooperation in agriculture, animal husbandry, ecological and environmental protection, sustainable development of marine water resource and other areas,and expand cooperation in education and sports. She also sincerely invited leaders of the province to attend the 50th anniversary of the Festival Interceltique Lorient 2020 and the International Exhibition for Animal Production in Rennes.

Zhang Jijun, Deputy Secretary-General of the provincial government, and officials of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Shandong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Areas, Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial People’sGovernment, Shandong Provincial Administration of Sport and Shandong Provincial Oceanic Administration also attended the meeting.
